Manager Comments

Great night for me with only 1 defeat but that hasn’t stopped me from gaining 1st place in the table. Another bit of good news for me is that I won the Premier Division Manager of the Month Award for April and my side are through to the next round of the League cup after beating Longford on penalties. I made one signing today and that was Padraig Drew whose a left sided attacking midfielder who should command a first team place. So far he’s played well for me.

Manager Comments
Pretty good start to the season with only one defeat and 4 straight wins on the trot giving my side 2nd spot in the table. I haven’t had to make many changes to the side so my transfer kitty is still pretty much full in case I need it. Experience a good derby day victory in the league cup which has given the fans more reason to support my running of the club and the board are very encouraged with the start I’ve made and I plan on building upon the good start.

New Pup in Town aiming to be Top Drog

Brendan Lacey arrived on Windmill road suitcase in hand, a relatively unknown to the world. He strolled confidently into the make shiftpress room in United Park and took his sit between joint club Presidents Charles Hurley and Vincent Hoey. He sat with a wry smirk as the two began to explain their decision to hire an unknown 26yr in their hotseat.

Lacey does hold somewhat of a history in Irish football, having been a youth coach with Shamrock Rovers for many years and even deputy head of youth development. The youngest ever coach to apply in Ireland to take his Uefa coaching lisences Lacey knows a thing or two about developing young talented sides. Which will be his aim here we are told..

Lacey laid out his plans for the Drogs in a short interview with the press, his first ever media interview; "Well, im delighted to be here first of all, I think its a wonderful club with huge potential aye, We'll look to grow through our youth policies here, we wont be big spenders, I believe in a solid core and an attractive game of football. Thats all it is." The new boss got off to a great start, winning his opening two Setanta cup ties against Linfield and UCD, then going on to win his opening league game. The Drogs were hotly tipped at evens to win the league this year, under new management and a fresh approach it could very well be worth your time having a punt.
